Lizzy Johnson Elected to Board of British Chamber of Commerce Dubai as Industry Expert
The British business community in Dubai celebrates a milestone as Lizzy Johnson has been elected to the Board of the British Chamber of Commerce Dubai (BCCD) as Industry Expert. Announcing the news, Lizzy expressed deep gratitude to the members for their votes and support throughout the election process, stating, “A huge thank you to every member who voted for me and to everyone who supported me throughout the process. One of the highlights has been meeting so many new people and getting to know more of our members, alongside conversations with colleagues and others I have worked with over the years.”
This year, the Chamber saw a surge in membership, record-breaking attendance at both events and the Annual General Meeting (AGM), and a historic number of votes cast in the Board elections. Lizzy highlighted the positive momentum within the organisation, commenting, “The results shared at the AGM show just how much momentum there is behind the Chamber, with increased membership, record attendance at events and the AGM, and a record number of votes cast in this year’s Board election. There is a strong foundation to build on.”
A notable point for the British business network is the involvement of Geraldine McCafferty, His Majesty’s Ambassador to the UAE, who serves as Honorary President. Lizzy acknowledged this, saying, “It is also significant to have Geraldine McCafferty, His Majesty’s Ambassador to the UAE, serving as Honorary President, strengthening the Chamber’s advocacy and its connections across the wider UK–UAE business relationship.”
She also extended her congratulations to every candidate, underlining the diversity of expertise and willingness to contribute among them. “It was a strong group of candidates, bringing an impressive breadth of expertise and experience, all willing to contribute their time and knowledge to the Chamber and its members,” Lizzy noted.
Looking ahead, Lizzy said, “I am looking forward to working with my fellow Board members, the Business Leadership Team, our Partners and our Members, building on the excellent work already underway as we enter the Chamber’s 40th year and contributing to its next chapter.”
