Ahmed Bin Sulayem Named “Industry Legend” at GJEPC India’s IIJS Celebration Night for Transformative Role in Global Gems and Jewellery Trade

DMCC’s Executive Chairman and CEO, Ahmed Bin Sulayem, has been bestowed the distinguished title of “Industry Legend” by the Gem and Jewellery Export Promotion Council (GJEPC) India during the IIJS Celebration Night, recognizing his outstanding and long-standing contribution to the global gems and jewellery industry. This prestigious accolade not only highlights his transformative leadership but also acknowledges his pivotal role in fortifying the dynamic trade partnership between India and Dubai.

This recognition is a testament to the enduring success of a business relationship nurtured on trade, trust, and shared ambition. The fruitful partnership continues as bilateral trade between the UAE and India has surpassed USD 100 billion, with the UAE-India Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement further accelerating growth across sectors, particularly in gems and jewellery.

Under the leadership of Ahmed Bin Sulayem, DMCC has emerged as a world leader in the rough diamond trade and has established Dubai as a preeminent global hub, connecting India’s renowned manufacturing capabilities with international markets. The gems and jewellery sector remains at the heart of the flourishing partnership between the two nations—a relationship continuously evolving and expanding with the support of visionary leadership.

Reflecting on the achievement, the organization stated:

This honour stands as a tribute to the collective efforts of industry partners who continue to shape the future of the global diamond and jewellery sector.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem’s vision and strategic stewardship have not only bolstered Dubai’s standing in the precious metals and stones trade but have also reinforced the emirate’s role as a central nexus in the global value chain. His work epitomizes the spirit of collaboration and innovation, paving the way for sustainable growth and mutual prosperity in the industry.
