Lufthansa is set to resume its direct flight between Riyadh and Munich, marking a significant development for business and leisure travelers between Saudi Arabia and Germany. According to the announcement, the German airline will reinstate nonstop service on this route starting from September 2, 2024.

The service will operate three times a week using the modern Airbus A350-900, known for its advanced technology and improved passenger comfort. The resumption of this route aims to provide enhanced connectivity for travelers between the Middle East and Europe, responding to growing demand and robust economic ties between the two countries.

A representative of Lufthansa stated that this move “underlines our commitment to the Saudi market and our goal to offer passengers more travel options and convenience.”

The new route is anticipated to support not only tourism but also strengthen business relations between the regions. It offers a more convenient itinerary for both Saudi nationals and expatriates seeking direct access to southern Germany, highlighting Munich’s role as a major European gateway.

Industry analysts believe that restoring this nonstop link will help stimulate trade and travel flows, further fostering mutual cooperation and economic synergy. Additionally, the flight is expected to support the Saudi Vision 2030 initiative, encouraging international tourism and expanding the country’s global connections.

With this, Lufthansa continues to expand its network in the Gulf region, reaffirming its position as a leading international carrier and meeting the evolving needs of its passengers.
