Namibia and UAE Strengthen Ties at High-Level Business Forum in Windhoek

Last week, Namibia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) convened in Windhoek for a landmark business forum, aiming to deepen trade and investment cooperation between the two nations. The high-level event witnessed the participation of senior government leaders and private-sector representatives from both countries, fostering dialogue around practical opportunities and strategic partnerships.

The Namibian delegation was headed by Hon. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi, Minister of International Relations and Trade, while the UAE delegation was led by H.E. Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi, Minister of Foreign Trade. Their collaboration focused on unlocking new pathways for business and investment across a range of sectors.

Key areas of discussion included energy, mining, logistics, agriculture, technology, and value-added manufacturing. By targeting these sectors, both countries are looking to leverage their unique strengths, stimulate economic growth, and create mutual benefits through diversified economic partnerships.

Hon. Selma Ashipala-Musavyi emphasized the importance of creating an ecosystem that encourages innovation and investment, underlining Namibia’s commitment to being an attractive destination for international businesses. H.E. Dr. Thani Al Zeyoudi reinforced the UAE’s dedication to forging robust international ties and exploring reciprocal investment opportunities.

The event in Windhoek marks a significant step forward in strengthening trade and investment relations, reflecting a shared commitment to economic partnerships and business growth. The bilateral engagement sets the foundation for continued collaboration, paving the way for transformative projects and enhanced connectivity between Namibia and the UAE.
