Emirates Expands Courier Express Service into Australia, Enhancing Cross-Border Delivery Efficiency

Emirates has expanded its Emirates Courier Express solution into Australia, reinforcing the airline’s commitment to reinventing the cross-border delivery experience. The newly launched service will cover four major Australian cities—Brisbane, Melbourne, Perth, and Sydney—with 70 flights per week, massively increasing direct parcel connectivity between Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.

Utilizing its existing passenger flight schedule, Emirates ensures unrivalled connectivity that allows for the fastest door-to-door delivery times, sometimes within just a matter of days. This initiative is poised to accelerate delivery times and reliability for both businesses and end consumers.

Dennis Lister, Senior Vice President of Product and Innovation at Emirates SkyCargo, stated, “Since the early test phase of Emirates Courier Express, we knew Australia would be a key market. Logistically challenging and historically underserved, businesses and end consumers will feel the benefits of our direct connectivity, high frequency flight schedules and flexible, scalable solution.”

Despite a rise in consumer trust in cross-border eCommerce, recent findings from the International Trade Administration indicate that only 6 percent of international shoppers purchase from Australia. One of the primary hurdles for both retailers and customers is delivery and logistics: fluctuating costs and long lead times have historically discouraged many from placing orders.

On the other hand, the inbound small parcel volume into Australia has ballooned by 45 percent over the last two years, with a record number of households shopping online. The arrival of the Emirates Courier Express solution is expected to support this eCommerce boom, making international fulfillment faster, easier, and more reliable.
