“At this unforgettable moment, seeing months of hard work come to life as we officially inaugurated Dubai International Chamber’s new representative office in Sweden, I was honoured to help bring this milestone to reality together with our leadership at Dubai Chambers and distinguished guests. This opening strengthens the ties between Dubai and Sweden — advancing trade, investment, and economic growth between our regions. It’s a new bridge connecting Nordic innovation with Dubai’s global opportunities,” stated Yasmin Latif, Chief Representative for Sweden and the Nordics at Dubai Chambers.
The inauguration ceremony welcomed notable speakers, including H.E. Benjamin Dousa, Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Trade & International Development Cooperation; H.E. Ghasaq Shaheen, UAE Ambassador to Sweden; Mr. Salem AlShamsi, Executive Vice President of International Relations, Dubai Chambers; Mr. Mohammad Al Kassim, Regional Director for Europe & the Americas, Dubai International Chamber; and Ms. Petra Schirren, President for the Gulf Region at Ericsson.
Reflecting on the economic impact, Yasmin Latif revealed, “In 2024, non-oil bilateral trade between Dubai and Sweden grew by 5.3%, reaching AED 3.9 billion. Today, over 940 Swedish companies are now active in Dubai, reflecting the growing strength of our partnership and shared ambition.”
This new office in Sweden is more than a physical presence; it embodies Dubai Chambers’ commitment to nurturing Nordic business, fostering sustainable innovation, and ensuring robust economic growth. It stands as a testament to Dubai’s strategy for international outreach and establishing key trade partnerships in Europe.
The move has been met with enthusiasm by business leaders and government officials from both countries, further validating the critical role of the Dubai International Chamber in facilitating opportunities across industries and markets.
As Dubai and the Nordics look forward to a new era of expanded cooperation, this milestone is expected to catalyze further partnerships, open doors for technological collaboration, and accelerate the adoption of sustainable business solutions.
