Dubai Chambers Advances Bilateral Ties with Successful Dubai–Beijing Business Seminar
Dubai, 8th July, 2025 — The Dubai–Beijing Business Seminar, recently organised by Dubai Chambers, has marked another milestone in strengthening trade and investment partnerships between Dubai and Beijing. The event sought to create new economic opportunities and promote bilateral cooperation across a spectrum of sectors, further deepening the economic relationship between both regions.
Hosted at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters in partnership with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Beijing, the seminar welcomed a distinguished Chinese delegation led by Sima Hong, Vice Mayor of Beijing. Key Emirati officials in attendance included Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Under-Secretary of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism. The gathering brought together around 130 business leaders, officials, and private sector representatives from both markets, underlining the growing significance of the Dubai-Beijing partnership.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah affirmed the institution’s dedication to fostering closer business relations between the two cities. As he stated:
“We remain committed to deepening economic and investment ties between Dubai and Beijing across a broad range of sectors. As part of these efforts, we are continuing to support the Chinese business community in capitalising on the significant opportunities Dubai offers as a gateway for regional and global expansion. Strengthening partnerships and driving collaborative initiatives between our business communities remains a key priority.”
Attendees benefitted from a detailed presentation given by Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, who showcased Dubai’s economic landscape and the city’s competitive advantages for prospective businesses and investors. The presentation also highlighted potential areas for joint business opportunities between Dubai and China, drawing attention to promising sectors for future trade and investment cooperation.
One of the seminar’s high points was the spotlight on the robust growth in trade relations between Dubai and China. Non-oil bilateral trade reached a value of around AED 296.3 billion in 2024, representing an annual growth of 19 percent. By mid-2025, more than 6,000 Chinese companies were registered as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, demonstrating Dubai’s growing appeal as a global business hub.
Further cementing these ties, Dubai Chambers took the initiative to host the first international edition of the Dubai Business Forum in Beijing in August 2024. Centre-staged under the theme ‘China, Dubai and Beyond: Igniting Global Trade and Investment,’ the event showcased Dubai’s strategic initiatives, investment-ready opportunities, and competitive strengths, drawing significant attention from both Chinese and global business communities.
In conjunction with last year’s forum, Dubai Chambers also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Beijing. This agreement aims to support the expansion of trade relations and intensify bilateral ties, further aligning the business communities of both markets towards shared economic goals.
