UAE Delegation Forges Stronger Economic Ties with Mexico During High-Level Visit

As part of a significant diplomatic and economic initiative, a delegation from the United Arab Emirates (UAE) visited Mexico, headed by H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE. The central event of this mission was the “UAE–Mexico Business Forum,” designed to explore innovative paths for economic cooperation and trade between the two nations.

During the forum, Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi, Minister of State for Foreign Trade, highlighted the UAE’s strategic interests in deepening investments across pivotal sectors. He stated, “We are committed to advancing investment in strategic sectors such as energy, food security, and advanced technologies.” This underscores both countries’ ambitions to strengthen their respective economies through robust collaboration.

A landmark achievement of the visit was the signing of a memorandum of understanding on investment cooperation, along with an agreement to launch negotiations toward a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). These milestones are expected to catalyze greater bilateral investments and create new business opportunities for enterprises in both nations.

Reflecting the growing dynamism in economic exchanges, bilateral non-oil trade between the UAE and Mexico reached $770 million in Q1 2025, marking an impressive 27.6% year-on-year increase. This growth signals a new era of mutually beneficial trade relations.

Dubai International Chamber reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to this momentum, with a special focus on supporting Mexican companies to access opportunities in Dubai and the broader region. Their efforts aim to facilitate easier entry and expansion for Mexican businesses, fostering economic growth on both sides.

This high-level visit and the resulting agreements stand as a testament to the shared vision of the UAE and Mexico for closer economic partnership, poised to drive long-term growth and innovation across continents.
