Dubai International Chamber Opens 36th Global Office in Thailand to Boost Trade Relations
Dubai International Chamber has officially launched its 36th international representative office in Bangkok, Thailand, aiming to enhance bilateral trade and investment ties between Dubai and Thailand. The move forms part of the broader Dubai Global initiative, which seeks to attract foreign companies, investors, and international talent to Dubai by showcasing the emirate’s competitive advantages.
The newly inaugurated office is set to play a crucial role in connecting Dubai-based companies with their Thai counterparts. It will focus on building relationships with public and private sector stakeholders in Thailand, offering the local business community market intelligence, business matchmaking services, and strategic market entry guidance.
Quote: “The launch of our new office in Bangkok further strengthens Dubai’s global connectivity and reaffirms our commitment to supporting businesses in expanding their international footprints. The office will unlock new opportunities for Thai companies seeking to enter Dubai and leverage the city’s strategic advantages as a gateway to global growth. Thailand remains an important partner in our efforts to cement Dubai’s position as a hub for global trade and investment, and we are confident this step will generate significant opportunities for businesses in both markets.”
The launch event coincided with the ‘Doing Business with Thailand’ forum, held as part of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce’s ‘New Horizons’ trade mission to Southeast Asia. The forum, hosted in Bangkok, drew more than 474 participants, including senior officials, business leaders, and Thai companies interested in collaborative ventures with Dubai.
The trade mission featured a diverse mix of 20 Dubai-based companies, operating in sectors such as food and beverages, human resources, electronics, hospitality, investment, and agriculture. Over the course of the event, the chamber facilitated 288 bilateral business meetings, laying a strong foundation for potential partnerships.
Bilateral economic ties have seen robust growth, with non-oil trade between Dubai and Thailand surpassing AED 23.8 billion in 2024, a 23.3% year-over-year increase. Reflecting this growing engagement, the number of Thai companies registered as active members of Dubai Chamber of Commerce grew by 28.4%, reaching 190 by the end of 2024.
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce has pinpointed high-potential export categories from Dubai to Thailand, including livestock feed, fertiliser, flat-rolled iron/steel, unwrought aluminium alloys, and cosmetic products. In parallel, promising investment sectors for Dubai-based firms in Thailand include rental and leasing services, renewable energy, freight and distribution, and medical tourism.
With the opening of this Bangkok office, Dubai strengthens its international network and builds on its commitment to being a global hub for trade and investment, reinforcing strategic partnerships across rapidly growing Asian economies.
