Dubai, 27th May, 2025 — Dubai Chambers welcomed a high-level delegation of 60 companies from Madagascar today during the Dubai–Madagascar Business Forum, which took place at the organisation’s headquarters. The event sought to strengthen economic collaboration between the UAE and the East African island nation, spotlighting promising opportunities across several strategic trade and investment sectors.
The forum was held in the presence of Andry Rajoelina, President of the Republic of Madagascar, who led a delegation comprising government ministers, senior officials, and prominent Malagasy business leaders. They were greeted by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, the Chamber’s President and CEO, alongside representatives from Dubai’s thriving private sector.
In his keynote remarks, President Rajoelina acknowledged the strength of Dubai’s economic standing on the global stage and reiterated Madagascar’s intention to deepen bilateral cooperation across priority industries.
During the event, Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori noted, “The steady growth in economic ties between Dubai and Madagascar reflects our shared commitment to strengthening bilateral partnerships and exploring new opportunities for impactful cooperation that support sustainable economic growth. The launch of Emirates Airlines’ direct service to Antananarivo, Madagascar’s capital, in September 2024 marked a significant milestone in boosting bilateral trade, tourism, and collaboration.”
Al Mansoori highlighted the substantial growth in trade between the two regions, saying, “Dubai’s non-oil trade with Madagascar increased by 90% during 2024, growing from AED 692 million in 2023 to reach AED 1.3 billion. This significant leap reflects the expanding momentum of bilateral economic relations. We are committed to providing comprehensive support to develop relationships and partnerships between the business communities in Dubai and Madagascar, highlighting ways to capitalise on promising opportunities within vital sectors of mutual interest.”
A detailed presentation delivered by Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah showcased sector-specific avenues for collaboration, including tourism, entertainment, logistics, real estate, information technology, and financial services. The Chamber reinforced its readiness to offer strategic support and resources to Malagasy enterprises aiming to enter Dubai’s dynamic marketplace.
The forum marked a significant step forward in expanding trade and investment bridges between Dubai and Madagascar, signalling mutual interest in long-term economic partnership.
