Dubai Chamber of Commerce Hosts Workshop on D33 Industry Friendly Power Policy
The Dubai Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), has recently conducted a virtual workshop to shed light on the D33 Industry Friendly Power Policy. The event was organised by the chamber’s Centre for Responsible Business and brought together 46 representatives from the private sector to discuss the policy’s objectives, eligibility criteria, and business benefits.
The D33 Industry Friendly Power Policy is a strategic initiative aimed at supporting and accelerating sustainability ambitions and promoting the transition to a green economy in the emirate, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). The policy provides manufacturers, data centres, and agri-tech entities with the opportunity to install solar energy systems for internal use, enabling them to generate the power required for their operations while reducing overall energy costs.
This initiative is designed to increase the share of clean energy in Dubai’s energy mix. The workshop discussed the technical requirements and eligibility criteria for businesses seeking to benefit from the policy. Emphasis was placed on how the policy supports the industrial sector by reducing the cost of doing business, helping achieve clean energy targets, and fast-tracking decarbonisation efforts toward carbon neutrality in Dubai.
